Cincinnati Returns Home to Play Providence on Wednesday
The University of Cincinnati returns home to play host to Providence on Wednesday. The game starts at 9 p.m. ET and will be televised by ESPNU and ESPN3 and can be heard on 700 WLW-AM.

The contest is the first of three consecutive home games at Fifth Third Arena. UC plays four of its final six games of the regular season at home.

The Bearcats (17-8, 7-5 BIG EAST) dropped a 95-78 decision at then-No. 18/19 Marquette on Saturday. Five Bearcats scored in double figures led by Dion Dixon and Jaquon Parker who scored 15 points each. Yancy Gates posted a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Providence (13-13, 2-11 BIG EAST) suffered a 55-48 setback at home to USF on Saturday. Vincent Council led the Friars with a game-high 16 points on 5-of-12 shooting.

Providence leads 4-3 in the all-time series with Cincinnati. The Bearcats have won the last two meetings, including a 93-81 overtime win at Providence last season on Feb. 19.

-Cincinnati ranks among the nation's top 30 teams in five statistical categories entering the week (games through 2/12). The Bearcats are 16th in turnover margin (+3.7), 16th in fewest turnovers per game (11.0), 21st in fewest fouls per game (15.6), 31st in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.22-to-1) and 38th in steals per game (8.2).

-Sophomore guard Sean Kilpatrick is 36th nationally in three-point field goals made per game (2.7) and 36th in three-point shooting (40.0 percent).

- Senior forward Yancy Gates is 36th nationally in rebounds per game (9.3).

-Cashmere Wright has hit double figures in seven of his last eight games, averaging 12.3 points and shooting 44.4 percent from three-point range (16-of-36). He also has 29 steals in 12 BIG EAST games, an average of 2.4 per game.

-Junior guard Jaquon Parker is averaging 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds while shooting 44.3 percent (54-of-122) from the field and 43.6 percent from three-point range (17-of-39) in 18 games since his return from injury.  At Marquette (2/11), Parker scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting with eight rebounds - his most boards in a BIG EAST game this season.
