Feb. 25, 2009
CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati (UC) and West Virginia University (WVU) will face off on the basketball court Thursday, Feb. 26, and they will continue the competition off-court through March 23 in a contest that will raise funds for cancer care.
The two schools have challenged each other to "Penny Wars" with the goal of collecting loose change to benefit patient care at the UC Barrett Cancer Institute at University Hospital and the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at WVU.
The promotion, being conducted by each University and their respective Foundations, will launch Thursday, Feb. 26, during the men's basketball game with WVU. Fans are encouraged to donate that evening, or until March 23 at any one of the area's 14 participating Huntington Bank branches.
