CINCINNATI - Head men's basketball coach Mick Cronin will be hosting the second annual "Coach Cronin Bearcats Golf Classic" on Friday, May 21 at Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia, Ohio, and UC fans can still get in on the action and claim one of the final spots in the exclusive two-person, best-ball tournament.
The field is limited to 36 two-person teams and scores will be calculated on 80 percent of your handicap. The cost is a donation of $750 per person or $1,500 per team. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. in the clubhouse. Individuals registering for the Bearcats Classic will be paired with a partner.
In addition to the golf outing, participating players will receive an invitation to attend a UC men's basketball practice party during the 2010-11 season.
For those unable to participate in the golf outing, you are invited to join the group, which will include former Bearcats basketball players, for a dinner and social later that evening in the clubhouse for $250 per person.
There will be a live auction at the diner where fans will have the opportunity to bid on team-related items and experiences.
Elks Run Golf Course, located off of I-275 at State Route 32, is situated on 163 acres in Batavia. Utilizing bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways, this Greg Norman design takes advantages of the rolling hills and creeks to provide a course that maximizes its beauty and difficulty.
The funds generated as part of the day-long golf outing will go toward supporting the team's additional annual travel expenses.
