The 1991-92 team finished 29-5 overall, winning a share of the Great Midwest Conference regular-season crown and claiming the league's tournament title before making the program's sixth Final Four appearance. The Bearcats were led in scoring by guard/forward Herb Jones (18.8 points per game), guard Anthony Buford (15.3) and guard Nick Van Exel (12.3).

The squad's road to the Final Four included tournament wins over Delaware (85-47), Michigan State (77-65), Texas El-Paso (69-67) and Memphis (88-57) before falling to Michigan (76-72) in the national semifinal in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The team, celebrating its 25-year anniversary during the 2016-17 campaign, was recognized at halftime of the UConn home game on Feb. 4. writer Bill Koch detailed the squad’s magical season.

The 2016-17 Bearcats wore white Under Armour replica versions throwback uniforms during the UConn contest and other select games during the season. The jerseys will be available for sale in the fall of 2017 at local retailers.

Also honored on Tuesday will be Doug Schloemer, who was named Mr. Basketball in Kentucky in 1978 while at Holmes High School and later earned four letters in basketball at UC before graduating in 1982.

The Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization, which was created in 1996 by the late George C. Spencer to honor and give recognition to people who have made significant contributions to amateur and professional basketball in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan and surrounding areas, nationally and internationally.
