CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team announced today that it will play a three-game series with Wright State University beginning in the 2010-11 campaign.

The series will consist of the Bearcats hosting the Raiders during the 2010-11 and the 2012-13 seasons, while making a trip up to the Ervin J. Nutter Center during the 2011-12 campaign.

Cincinnati and Wright State last met during the 2001 season with the Bearcats defeating Wright State, 83-54, in Fifth Third Arena.

Last season, the Raiders posted a 20-12 overall record and a 12-6 record in Horizon League play, finishing second in the league behind National Runner-Up, Butler University.

The Bearcats and Raiders have met six times and UC holds a 6-0 lead in the all-time series dating back to the first meeting between the local rivals back in 1973. Cincinnati's trip to Wright State during the 2011-12 season will be UC's first time playing on Wright State's home floor.

In addition to the Wright State series, the men's basketball program recently announced that it will be participating in the 75th annual All-College Basketball Classic, which will be held Dec. 18 at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. The doubleheader will feature Oklahoma State vs. Alabama followed by Oklahoma vs. Cincinnati.

Cincinnati enters the 2010-11 season with three starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's squad that finished 19-16 and made its first appearance in the NIT under head coach Mick Cronin. The Bearcats top returning scorer and rebounder is junior forward Yancy Gates (10.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg), a 2008-09 BIG EAST All-Rookie Team selection. Fellow returning starters include senior center Ibrahima Thomas (5.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and sophomore guard Jaquon Parker (4.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg). The Bearcats will add depth to the front court with the additions of 6-foot-8 freshman forward Justin Jackson and 6-foot-10 freshman center Kelvin Gaines.
