HEBRON, Ky. - Members of the University of Cincinnati Tip-Off Club, along with some former players and supporters of the men's basketball program, took part in the fourth annual Coach Mick Cronin's Bearcat Classic on July 9 at Traditions Golf Club.
The yearly summer fundraiser offered supporters the opportunity to participate in a round of golf alongside the Bearcats coach and players from the past. Those unable to participate were encouraged to sponsor a hole or join the group at dinner and a social event that followed Monday evening.
Funds raised at the event help offset expenses for travel and program enhancement projects.
"This event continues to be a great opportunity for our coaches to spend an afternoon playing golf with former players and supporters of our program," Cronin said. "We want it to be a special experience because we appreciate their help in building our program."
The donation costs included $750 per person or $1,500 per team; hole sponsorships for $500 or dinner reservations for $250 per person.
Bearcats fans are encouraged to join the UC Tip-Off Club which assists in funding targeted needs of the men's basketball program. Contributors are provided active membership into UCATS, receiving priority points. Donations can be made on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis through the UCATS office. Membership levels range from $1,000 to $10,000. Those interested in joining should call the UCATS office at (513) 556-4884.
Traditions Golf Club also serves as the home course for the UC men's and women's golf programs.
