Bearcat Caravan at Salem Gardens Caravan Event Attracts Overflow Crowd

July 21, 2009

CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati head football coach Brian Kelly and head men's basketball coach Mick Cronin visited Salem Gardens on July 20 for a Bearcat Caravan event.  This was one of more than 80 such events scheduled around the Cincinnati Metro this spring and summer for the Caravan, which is now in its third year of spreading the Bearcats message around the Tri-State.

“What a great crowd and electric atmosphere with Bearcat Fans”, head coach Brian Kelly. ”These are the type of community events that are important in helping building and sustaining a championship athletics program.”

UC fans received complimentary promotional items from UC Athletics, along with the hour-long autograph session which featured both head coaches.

“I always love coming to Salem Gardens for dinner, but being surrounding by UC fans makes it more special. I value the opportunity to be able to visit with the fans and want to thank (former UC basketball standout) Mike Larkin for allowing us to visit his restaurant”, said head men’s basketball coach Mick Cronin.

“What a great Bearcat event—I am so pleased.  I want to thank both Coach Cronin and Coach Kelly for making it an awesome night at Salem Gardens. GO BEARCATS!”, said owner Mike Larkin.
