Time and Network Announced for Skyline Chili Crosstown Classic

CINCINNATI – The game time and network have been confirmed for the 2012 edition of the annual University of Cincinnati vs. Xavier University men’s basketball game, slated to take place on Dec. 19.

Newly titled as the Skyline Chili Crosstown Classic and benefitting the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the game will be carried live on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET. This will mark the 15th consecutive year that the UC-XU matchup has been carried by an ESPN network.

The game has been moved to a neutral site, downtown Cincinnati’s US Bank Arena, with UC serving as the home team for the 2012 game.

“We are very pleased that ESPN has selected the Skyline Chili Crosstown Classic to be shown during prime time,” UC director of athletics Whit Babcock said. “We’re anticipating a tremendous event that will showcase our city, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and our two great schools on a national stage.  We’re looking forward to a bright future for this series down on the banks of the Ohio River and we’re thrilled it will be appropriately showcased on ESPN2.”
