Aug. 4, 2014
Former University of Cincinnati forward Justin Jackson has signed to play with a professional team in Athens, Greece for the coming season.
A 6-8, 230-pounder from Cocoa Beach, Florida, Jackson will play for AE Ne Kifisia Dimoulas Athens in the Greek Basket league, the top division in the country. The squad finished fifth in the league a year ago.
The 2014 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Jackson averaged 11.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and a league-best 2.9 blocks last season for the regular-season league champion Bearcats. A second team All-American Conference selection, Jackson was also named a Lefty Driesell Defensive All-American. He finished the 2013-14 campaign ranked 12th in the nation with 99 blocks, third most in a single season at Cincinnati. Jackson's 219 career blocks rank fourth in school history.
