Aug. 7, 2008

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati head men’s basketball coach Mick Cronin will take part in the Collegiate Business Conference presented by Double Pump, Inc., tomorrow at the Universal Hilton in Universal City, Calif. The conference brings together industry insiders to network with their peers and debate relevant topics with outside speakers. Last year’s event attracted over 450 attendees, including made up of collegiate directors of athletics and coaches.

Cronin will give a 45-minute presentation at the conference speaking about game preparation and defensive principals. He is part of a program that includes college and professional basketball greats such as Jerry West, Pat Summitt, Denny Crum, and UC’s own Oscar Robertson – College Basketball’s Player of the Century.

In just two years at Cincinnati, Cronin has directed a rebuilding process that saw the Bearcats quadruple their BIG EAST Conference win total last season and earn them a bid to the inaugural College Basketball Invitational. Sophomore guard Deonta Vaughn, a member of Cronin’s first recruiting class at UC, became the Bearcats second first-team all-BIG EAST selection last year, leading the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game.
