CINCINNATI — With a little over a month left before the start of the 2008-09 exhibition season, season tickets for the upcoming University of Cincinnati men and women’s basketball campaigns are on sale now. Mini plan ticket packages go on sale to UCATS members Oct. 2 and then to the general public on Oct. 9.

UC men’s basketball season ticket packages include tickets for two preseason exhibition games and the regular-season tilts in Fifth Third Arena. Besides BIG EAST Conference regular-season champion Georgetown, the Bearcats will play five additional 2008 NCAA Tournament participants at home – Connecticut, Louisville (Ring of Red Game), Notre Dame, Xavier, and West Virginia.

Tickets in the lower bowl are $542 per seat, while upper bowl seats are $485. Both the upper and lower bowl season tickets are assigned based upon a preferred seating program which requires a donation to UCATS. For more information on the preferred seating program and to purchase your season tickets, please contact the UC Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-CATS-TIX.

“Our goal in presenting a variety of ticketing options is to make it easy for as many people as possible to experience the excitement of Cincinnati Basketball” says Director of Athletics Mike Thomas. “We play in the finest basketball conference in the nation, the BIG EAST, and both of our teams are coming off great recruiting years and return solid returning letterwinners to pace the Red & Black on the drive to the postseason.”

In addition to the traditional season ticket plans, UC Athletics is also offering three mini plans which give fans a chance to see some of the best games of the season at a reduced price.   Each plan has a lead game (Xavier, Louisville, or West Virginia) along with tickets to three to six additional home games depending on the package. The mini plans offer fans their first chance to guarantee a seat to one of the three premium games which are sure to sell out.

The SUPERFAN Mini Plan ($172) is a seven-game plan featuring the West Virginia home game on Feb. 26, plus six other games. The plan provides patrons with the best savings, offering a combined package with 20 percent off face value.

The CROSSTOWN SHOOTOUT ($120) and RING OF RED ($120) plans will feature the lead game, plus three BIG EAST games each for a four-game premier game offering.

A new season ticket package that is being offered this year is the UCATS Young Professionals plan. The package is aimed to provide Bearcats fans under the age of 30 an opportunity to join UCATS now ($50 donation) and begin earning priority points while enjoying the opportunity to purchase season tickets at a reduced price ($440 per seat). With just one section (Section 127) available open to the plan, act now before they are gone.

Fans wishing to purchase season tickets without becoming a member of the preferred seating program can purchase the BearcatS Lair Family Plan. For $1,140, you will receive four tickets in sections 203, 207, 219, or 223. Act now as seats in the Bearcats Family Plan section are limited and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The BEARCATS LAIR offers fans a savings of over $1,000 over day of the game purchase price and guarantees you a seat for each home game in Fifth Third Arena.

Fans can get a sneak peak at the 2008-09 Bearcats men and women’s basketball teams as the teams hosts the Bearcats Basketball Fan Jam, presented by Skyline Chili, on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Fifth Third Arena. The special event will be held in conjunction with UC’s All-American Homecoming Weekend and the Rutgers football game. Due to scheduling agreements with the BIG EAST Conference and ESPN, the start time for the Fan Jam will not be known until 12 to six days before the event.

The Bearcats Basketball Fan Jam is free and open to the public and features general admission seating. The program will feature a fan vs. the women’s basketball team three-point shooting contest, a men’s team scrimmage and team autograph session.
