Men's Basketball Welcomes Fans to Meet the Bearcats

CINCINNATI- Head coach Mick Cronin and the University of Cincinnati 2011-12 men's basketball team invite fans and supporters to "Meet the Bearcats" on Friday, Oct. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena.

Those attending the free event will gain the first glimpses at the new Bearcats squad during a 20-minute scrimmage. Select UC students will participate in a three-point shooting contest alongside current Bearcats players as well as have the opportunity to serve as guest coaches for the scrimmage.

A post-scrimmage autograph session will occur with the entire team. Posters will be provided.

Parking will be available in all garages on campus except for Varsity Village on a cash-only basis. Fans are encouraged to park at Corry Garage off of Corry Blvd. for a special discounted parking rate of $5.  

Doors open at 6 p.m.

"The players and coaches want to welcome fans to come out and connect with our team and celebrate the beginning of the new season," Cronin said.

Fans interested in looking at NEW seating opportunities for the 2011-2012 season will have a chance to select their seats for Season Ticket Packages and Mini-Plans with members of the UCATS Customer Service Center team. Customer Service Center representatives will available on the East Concourse for the duration for the event and have full access to all seating locations in Fifth Third Arena. Season Ticket packages for the 20-game season start at just $166.00. The Represent the C mini-plan is $100.00 and includes games against Notre Dame (January 4), Villanova (January 14), Syracuse (January 23), and Louisville (February 23).

The Bearcats return their top four scorers from last season's 26-9 unit that advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to the eventual national champions.
