BIG EAST Coaches Pick UC Fourth
Sean Kilpatrick

Oct. 17, 2012

NEW YORK - The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team was picked fourth in the BIG EAST Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll announced Wednesday at the league's media day. It marks the highest ranking for the Bearcats in the poll since joining the conference prior to the 2005-06 season.

League coaches also tabbed UC junior guard Sean Kilpatrick with First Team All-BIG EAST Conference honors. Kilpatrick averaged 14.3 points last season and made a league-high 92 three-pointers.

The Bearcats are coming off a 26-11 campaign during the 2011-12 season, defeating a school-record eight ranked opponents. Three starters, including Kilpatrick, return from last year's team that reached the NCAA tournament Sweet 16 and made the school's first appearance in the BIG EAST Championship title game.

Louisville was the unanimous choice to win the league's regular-season crown, followed by Syracuse and Notre Dame. Louisville's Peyton Siva was tabbed the league's preseason player of the year. A complete list of rankings and honors is listed below.
