CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati junior guard Sean Kilpatrick has been named to the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring a career-high 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field, including a career-high eight three-pointers in Cincinnati's 93-39 win over North Carolina A&T on Sunday. He also added seven rebounds, five assists with no turnovers and two steals against the Aggies.
With his effort, Kilpatrick became the first player to lead UC in points, rebounds and assists since Yancy Gates posted 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists against Savannah State on Nov. 24, 2010.
The Naismith and John R. Wooden Award watch list nominee poured in a game-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds against Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 13. He also posted 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting against Tennessee-Martin in the season opener on Nov. 11.
Kilpatrick leads all Bearcats, averaging 21 points while shooting 63.2 percent from the field (24 of 38) and 55.0 percent from three-point range (8 of 12) with 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists through three games this season.
A native of Yonkers, N.Y., Kilpatrick was named a first team All-BIG EAST selection by the league's coaches in the preseason.
The 22nd-ranked Bearcats (3-0) return to the floor on Tuesday when they play host to Campbell (2-2) at Fifth Third Arena. The game starts at 7 p.m. and will be televised by FOX Sports Ohio and is also available on 700 WLW-AM.
