Cincinnati Game Notes

The University of Cincinnati (3-1) welcomes Marshall (4-0) to Fifth Third Arena on Friday for the finale of the Global Sports Challenge. The game starts at 7 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN3 and is also available to Time Warner Cable digital customers through the "Sports Pass" package on channel 315.

The Bearcats are coming off a 71-43 home win against Northwestern State on Monday. UC senior forward Yancy Gates registered his 15th career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead four UC players in double figures. Marshall earned a 69-64 victory over UNC-Wilmington on Tuesday. Senior guard Damier Pitts led all scorers with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field to go with five assists.

UC owns a 19-11 advantage in the all-time series with Marshall, including a 15-2 mark in Cincinnati.

The Marshall game concludes UC's play in the four-game Global Sports Challenge, an NCAA-exempt event. The Bearcats have posted wins against three other event participants, including Alabama State (65-40 on Nov. 13), Jacksonville State (73-59 on Nov. 15) and Northwestern State (71-43 on Nov. 21).
