UC Greets USC Upstate on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team wraps up its seven-game season-opening homestand on Tuesday when it takes on USC Upstate at Fifth Third Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET. The contest will be broadcast by ESPN3 and 700 WLW. Fans can purchase tickets at GoBEARCATS.com/tickets or by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX.

Cincinnati (6-0) earned a 95-67 victory over Kennesaw State on Friday. Guard Sean Kilpatrick scored a game-high 20 points with a season-high five three-pointers to lead four Bearcats in double figures. Forward Titus Rubles matched his career high with 14 points, including an 8-of-8 effort from the free throw line. Forward Justin Jackson added 11 points, seven rebounds and a game-high four blocks.

USC Upstate (5-3) registered a 73-64 win over Tennessee State on Saturday behind a game-high 22 points from forward Torrey Craig. Forward Richardo Glenn scored 15 points and forward Jodd Maxey added 10.  

The Bearcats play their first road game of the season on Saturday when they travel to New Mexico for a 4:05 p.m. ET contest.

Cincinnati Storylines
-Tuesday’s game against USC Upstate marks the 400th game play at Cincinnati’s Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats boast an all-time record of 327-72 (.820) in the 25-year old facility.
-UC has started 6-0 for the third time in the past four seasons. The Bearcats won their first 12 games last season and jumped out to a 15-0 start in 2010-11.
-UC’s seven-game homestand to start the 2013-14 season matches the longest season-opening homestand of the Mick Cronin era. The Bearcats also played their first seven games at Fifth Third Arena to start the 2006-07 campaign - Cronin’s first as head coach at his alma mater.
-UC is 45-4 in the last 49 nonconference regular-season home games.
-Senior guard Sean Kilpatrick was first in the American Athletic Conference in scoring (19.3 points per game) and tied for first in three-pointers per game (2.8) entering Sunday.
-Kilpatrick, named to the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 and Naismith Award Early Season Top 50 lists, enters Tuesday's game with 1,560 career points - seven points shy of passing Jason Maxiell (1,566 points from 2002-05) for 12th place on the UC career scoring list. He needs 26 points to move into 10th place on the list, passing Lloyd Banks (1,585 from 1988-91) and Darnell Burton (1,584 points from 1994-97).  
-Since the start of the 2010-11 season, UC is 47-2 when scoring at least 70 points. The Bearcats have held the opponent under 70 points for 13 consecutive games and in 33 of their last 35 contests since a 77-66 win over Oregon (Nov. 24) last season in Las Vegas.
