CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati junior guard Sean Kilpatrick has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in a pair of Bearcats' victories last week.
It marks the third time the BIG EAST has honored Kilpatrick's play this season. He earned BIG EAST Player of the Week selection on Nov. 26 after earning weekly honor roll distinction on Nov. 19.
Kilpatrick led the Bearcats in scoring in both contests last week. The Yonkers, N.Y., native recorded his fourth game with 20 or more points this season when he scored a game-high 23 points in a 92-60 win against Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. Kilpatrick was 10 of 15 from the field with a pair of three-pointers and four rebounds in 24 minutes. Earlier in the week, Kilpatrick led all scorers with a game-high 18 points to go with six rebounds and two assists in an 87-53 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock.
Kilpatrick has scored in double figures in all nine games this season and moved into 45th place on the UC career scoring chart with 1,047 points after Saturday's win.
The Naismith and John R. Wooden Award watch list nominee leads all Bearcats and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST Conference averaging 20.0 points through nine games this season. He is shooting 50.4 percent from the field (62 of 123) and 40.4 percent from three-point range (23 of 57). He ranks second in the conference, averaging 2.56 three-pointers per game.
Kilpatrick was named a first team All-BIG EAST selection by the league's coaches in the preseason.
