Department of Athletics Announces Bearcats Nation: Student Attendance Challenge

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics, in conjunction with the committee of Athletics tradition and spirit, has launched a new student attendance incentive program for the remainder of the 2009-10 Men's and Women's Basketball season! The program, called the Bearcats Nation: Student Attendance Challenge, rewards students for attending Men's and Women's Basketball games for the remainder of the season!

The program is set to kick-off at the FIRST Big East Conference Home games: December 30, 2009 for Men's Basketball and January 2, 2010 for Women's Basketball.

The purpose of the Student Attendance program is to drive student attendance for Men's and Women's basketball games and increase student participation!

The structure for the program is as follows:
Men's Basketball:
The Top 25 students, (freshmen, sophomores, & juniors), who earn the most points at the end of the Men's Basketball season will receive complimentary 2010 Football Student Season Tickets.

Points system for students:

  • Five (5) points will be earned for attending Men's Basketball games during the week (Monday-Thursday).
  • Three (3) points will be earned for attending Men's Basketball games during the weekends (Friday-Sunday).
  • Students can earn a maximum of 37 points

    Women's Basketball:
    The Top 10 students, (freshmen, sophomores, & juniors), who earn the most points at the end of the Women's Basketball season will receive complimentary 2010 Football Student Season Tickets.

    Points system for students is as follows:

  • Five (5) points will be earned for attending Women's Basketball games during the week (Monday-Thursday).
  • Three (3) points will be earned for attending Women's Basketball games during the weekends (Friday-Sunday).
  • Students can earn a maximum of 30 points

    All Senior students will be entered into a drawing to receive two (2) Football Young Professional Season Tickets and two (2) Men's Basketball Bearcat Lair Season Tickets, a prize valued at over $700! Seniors will receive one (1) entry for the drawing at each Men's and or Women's Basketball game they attend!

     

     

    Each month, the Top 25 leaders for Men's Basketball and the Top 10 students will all receive a prize.

    The prize structure for Men's and Women's Basketball are as follows:
    January: All students in the Top 25 for Men's Basketball and All Students in the Top 10 for Women's basketball will be entered into a drawing to win a University of Cincinnati Prize Pack! Names will be drawn at random and two (5) lucky students will win.
    February: All students in the Top 25 for Men's Basketball and All Students in the Top 10 for Women's basketball will be entered into a drawing to win a $100.00 gift card to the Bookstore! Names will be drawn at random and two (2) lucky students will win.
    March: Winners of the Top 25 and Top 10 Contests will be announced at half-time of the March 2, 2010 Men's Basketball game versus Villanova.

    In addition to the monthly prize give-a-ways, students will be eligible to participate in a half-time shooting contest that will take place for the duration of both the Men's and Women's Basketball Season.

    How do I win?
    Men's Basketball

  • The Top 25 students with the most points at the END of the Men's Basketball season will receive complimentary 2010 Football Student Season Tickets
  • A total of 25 complimentary tickets will be given away

    Women's Basketball

  • The Top 10 students with the most points at the END of the Women's Basketball season will receive complimentary 2010 Football Student Season Tickets
  • A total of 10 complimentary tickets will be given away

    Senior Students

  • Senior students will receive one (1) entry per Men's and Women's basketball game attended for the remainder of the season. All entries will be put into a drawing and one (1) lucky winner will receive two (2) complimentary Young Professional Football Season Tickets and two (2) Men's Basketball Bearcat Lair Season Tickets.

    Can I win more than one season ticket?
    No. Students are only permitted to win ONE set of season tickets. Students cannot win complimentary season tickets from both Men's and Women's Basketball; one season ticket per student.

    How will the program be tracked?
    Students will have to sign in and out of Men's and Women's Basketball games. Tables will be set up on the East andWest Concourse for Men's Basketball games and the East Concourse for Women's Basketball games. Members of the Bearcat Marketing Association, BMA, will be at each game with sign-in/sign-out sheets. Students will be asked to provide us with their first and last name, `M' numbers, and their class standing.

    Does the University of Cincinnati Athletic Department take care of any donations that may or may not be associated with the season tickets?
    No. All tickets that require UCATS donations are to be paid by the student.
