Director of Football Recruiting
Mike Waugh joined the University of Cincinnati football staff in 2012 as the director of football recruiting. He came to UC after three years in a similar role at Marshall University
Waugh oversees the day-to-day operations of the recruiting program including database management, organizing all official and unofficial visits, coordinating special events associated with recruiting, managing the current roster and recruiting budgets as well as administering all recruiting paperwork including transcripts and scholarship documents.
He also serves as the Bearcats' NFL liaison, coordinates the walk-on program, and assists with football camps and coaches' clinics.
He was the acting director of high school relations from 2009-2010 before being named permanently to that spot in Aug. 2010. In his role, Waugh oversaw Marshall's recruiting operation, coordinating the school's on-campus program, working with the coaching staff on planning visits and recruiting trips and also served as the departmental liaison on external matters. He later served as an interim assistant coach from Dec. 2011 to Feb. 2012, adding on the road recruiting responsibilities during staff changeover.
He started at Marshall in July of 2008, serving as the graduate assistant for recruiting; assisting in all aspects of the Thundering Herd's recruiting operations.
Waugh started his career as a football operations intern and recruiting assistant at Ohio University while he was an undergraduate. In that role, he supported the staff in the day-to-day operations of the program, served as the point person for the Bobcats' on-campus recruiting efforts and helped coordinate on-campus visits.
The Cleveland, Ohio native earned his bachelor's degree in sports science at Ohio in 2008 and also earned a master's degree in athletic administration from Marshall in 2010.
