CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati Football Head Coach Luke Fickell named three additional members of his staff Wednesday.

Collins, a Columbus, Ohio native, joins the Bearcats staff after spending the past two seasons at Ohio State as a strength and conditioning coach with the football program. He played four years at Otterbein and started his coaching career at Ohio State as a strength and conditioning intern, working with five Olympic sports and football in 2009. He later moved to Kentucky as a volunteer strength coach and spent part of the summer of 2009 as a summer intern with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was a graduate assistant at
Phillips has extensive experience coaching receivers, with stops at Kentucky, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Florida and in the NFL. He spent the 2016 season as an offensive quality control coach at Ohio State. This is Phillips’ second stint on UC’s campus after spending the 1997 season coaching the Bearcats wide receivers and 1998 mentoring the defensive backs. He spent the 2015 season as the wide receivers coach for the Cleveland Browns and has developed 11 wide receivers into NFL draft picks, including Troy Williamson (first round), Randall Cobb (second round), Steve Johnson (seventh round) and David Givens (seventh round). With 35 seasons of collegiate coaching, Tenuta has a wealth of FBS coaching experience, including being the defensive coordinator at various BCS stops: Kansas State, Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Virginia. Tenuta also served Marshall and SMU as defensive coordinator as well during the 1980s and has been a defensive coordinator in 19 of his 35 seasons as a collegiate coach. He wrapped up his third season as the associate head coach for the defense and the defensive coordinator at Virginia in 2015. He has coached more than 30 players who went on to play professional football.
