CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team was honored by the Ohio Senate and Ohio House on March 3, 2010 during ceremonies in their respective chambers in Columbus.

The Senate tribute was led by Sen. Eric Kearny. He called UC 'an absolutely stellar team' and noted that 58 of the team members are Ohio natives, including 24 from Greater Cincinnati.

Among the group that traveled to Columbus was Director of Athletics Mike Thomas, Zach Collaros, and Columbus-area natives Chazz Anderson, Wesley Richardson, and Isaiah Pead.

In the House chamber, Reps. Dale Mallory and Connie Pillich and nine other members of the Hamilton County delegation presented resolutions to the two-time defending BIG EAST Conference Champions as well as one for the UC Bearcat, who won the Capital One Mascot Challenge.

"I'm very, very proud today," said Pillich, a UC graduate.
