CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team took the a break from spring practice Monday to participate in opening day festivities for the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Members of the football team held a giant American flag in the outfield during the singing of our National Anthem. Coach Kelly then delivered the official game ball to the pitching mound for Reds opening day starter Aaron Harang.

A moment of silence was held in honor of Glenn Sample, longtime Reds official scorer and UC sports icon who passed away on Nov. 21, 2008. The Reds officially dedicated the Official Scorer's Booth of the ballpark in Sample's honor.
