Football Opens Last Week Of Spring Practice

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team returned to the practice fields Monday to open up the last week of spring football with a two-hour workout under rainy skies at Nippert Stadium.

Monday's practice was the 12th of 15 alloted under NCAA rules. UC will conclude the spring on April 25 at 7 p.m. with Bearcat Bowl III. All fans will be admitted free. This year, it will serve as the marquee event of Bearcats Pride Day. Other events include a football clinic, baseball game, athletics garage sale, and a soccer match. The Bearcats opened up with individual drills before moving into some special teams work and sessions of 7-on-7, and 11-on-11 to close out the day. In 11-on-11, quarterback Tony Pike had a pair of long completions to Armon Binns that ended up in the end zone.

A film crew from the NFL Network was on campus Monday, chronicling the pre-draft movments of Connor Barwin. The segment will be aired this weekend during the network's draft coverage.
