Coach Kelly Video | Bearcat Bowl III Information
CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team continued the march towards Bearcat Bowl III on April 25, holding its 13th spring workout, Tuesday at Nippert Stadium. The team worked in a number of weather conditions, as it alternated from sunny skies, to clouds, to rain, and even a brief period of hail.
Following some field-goal unit work to open practice, the team moved into a number of individual position drills. Later practice periods saw 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 sessions with specific work on red zone and short yardage packages.
Looking back over the past three weeks, head coach Brian Kelly is pleased with the direction of the team heading into the final two workouts of the spring.
"I've got a better feel for our football team," Kelly said. "We've had three good weeks this spring. We know our strengths and weaknesses as we head into our summer conditioning.
"I think we've got some very good depth in certain areas, particularly the defensive line. I feel much better about where we are at the cornerback position. On the offensive side of the ball, our offensive line is better and the ability to run the ball. We've got a number of weapons at both wide receiver and running back. So there are some things we can take away from the last three weeks that are pretty positive."
