UC Kicks Off FUTURE BEARCATS Program with Principals Lunch

May 15, 2009

CINCINNATI – Starting with the 2009-10 academic year, the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics will partner with local area elementary schools to engage FUTURE BEARCATS in the Tri-State area. The program kicks off on Friday, May 29, at Noon with a luncheon in the UCATS Club of Fifth Third Arena, where local area elementary school principals are invited to hear about the exciting new program from UC Athletics.

New University of Cincinnati head women’s basketball coach Jamelle Elliott and associate head football coach Kerry Coombs will speak at the event.

Last year the FUTURE BEARCATS program involved 3,000 students from the Tri-State. The individuals attended a game, received special campus tours, and were treated to special VIP on-field meet-and-greet opportunities with UC student-athletes and coaches.

Schools who cannot attend the luncheon, but would like more information, should contact Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Development Leslie Wenert at (513) 556-0838.
