Football Puts First Scrimmage Of Fall Camp In Books|

WEST HARRISON, IND. - The University of Cincinnati football team held its first preseason scrimmage Sunday, under hot and humid conditions to wrap the team's first week of training camp at the Higher Ground Conference and Retreat Center in West Harrison, Ind.
The Bearcats scrimmaged for over two hours, following some individual work and they closed the day out working on in-game situations.
QB Brendon Kay (Marine City, Mich./Marine City) opened the day up with a 75-yard TD pass to Chris Moore (Tampa, Fla./Thomas Jefferson). Kay threw for a pair of scores, while Bennie Coney (Plant City, Fla./Plant City) and Munchie Legaux (New Orleans, La./Edna Karr) accounted for three touchdowns apiece.
WR Tshumbi Johnson (Immokalee, Fla./Immokalee) had the catch of the day, hauling in a 15-yard TD strike from Legaux and getting his foot down in the back corner of the endzone.
Defensively, the Bearcats registered a pair of interceptions and six sacks. K Tony Miliano (North Bend, Ohio/Elder) connected on four field goals.
UC will return to the practice field Monday morning at Higher Ground, continuing the Bearcats two-week stay at their longtime preseason home. UC is scheduled to return to campus on Friday, Aug. 23.
