A Letter From Head Coach Brian Kelly

Aug. 19, 2008

Cincinnati football is on the rise and you are a big part of not only our past, but also our future.  As such, we are taking the same spirit from our Alumni Weekend in the spring and are implementing a new tradition this fall as part of our six-game home schedule at Nippert Stadium.

The UC Alumni Association and Department of Athletics is inviting you and all former Bearcats football players to a football alumni networking event prior to home football games during the 2008 season. This event will take place at the Myers Alumni Center which is located in the heart of our campus here at UC.

Before each home game, a pre-determined decade of UC football will be celebrated with a special dedication for the teams and players who have contributed to the growth and prosperity of our football program. The complete list of these dedications is as follows:

Thursday, Aug. 28               Eastern Kentucky    7:30 p.m.       1950s Alumni

Saturday, Sept. 20              Miami                         TBD                 1960s Alumni

Saturday, Oct. 11                Rutgers                      TBD                 1970s Alumni

Thursday, Oct. 30                South Florida            8:00 p.m.       1980s Alumni

Saturday, Nov. 22                Pittsburgh                 TBD                 1990s Alumni

Saturday, Nov. 29                Syracuse                   Noon               2000s Alumni

This pre-game event will take place 2.5 hours prior to all UC home football games and will begin with the “Cat Walk”. Fans are asked to join the marching band and cheerleaders as our team enters Nippert Stadium on game days throughout the fall. All events will conclude 30-minutes prior to kick-off so fans have ample time to enter Nippert Stadium.

Once you come to Varsity Village please visit the lobby of Richard E. Lindner Athletics Center for our other new tradition of the fall, the football UCATS Club.  Located in the award-winning Hall of Fame Atrium, you can mingle with other former players.  RSVP is not mandatory, but it would help us plan so we can recognize you on CATSVision in the stadium during the game.  If you plan on attending home games this fall please let us know each week by sending an email to bearcad@uc.edu.

Season ticket packages are selling at an all-time high, now over 11,000. We have some special seating areas which are still available for former players who are looking to stay involved with our program. These packages start at $232.00 per seat and secure seats for all six home games and our bowl game in 2008. Mini-Plans are available to those who cannot attend all six home games. The Pick 3 package allows fans the chance to select one (1) non-conference game and two (2) BIG EAST games for only $90.00 per seat. Single-game tickets for all six home games are available and can be purchased for $35.00 per seat. If you are interested in any of these ticket options, please call 1-877-CATS-TIX or visit the ticket office website at www.CATSTIX.com.

For all of the latest information on kickoff times please check GoBEARCATS.com.  Due to television, most of our times will not be set until 12-14 days from each game date.

Remember… Come Early, Be Loud, and Wear Black.
