Football Finishes Final Two-A-Day Session Thursday|
Aug. 21, 2014
Venue: Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center
WEST HARRISON, IND. - The University of Cincinnati football team held its final two-a-day session Thursday at the Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center in West Harrison, Ind.
Thursday brought cooler wet conditions in the morning but sunshine and humidity for the evening session.
"Practice was good," Head Coach Tommy Tuberville said this morning. "It was too cool. Makes me mad. We needed a hot day. Really not concerned as we are still a ways away from an actual game. We will go a little longer this afternoon and hopefully get some heat."
Tuberville went on to mention the morning rain was a benefit in some ways.
"It's good to practice in wet weather," Tuberville said. "We had some trouble with the snap. You've got to go in all kinds of elements and today was a little different. We got our practice in but will need to look at the film to see just how well we handled the wet ball."
He went on to say the Bearcats have worked heavily on fundamentals during their time at Higher Ground and more situational football and game planning awaited them when they return to campus next week.
"We haven't worked on much situational stuff, just basic offense, defense and special teams," Tuberville said. "We still have three weeks before we play a game. We have been trying to get more technique work done and we will do some more situational stuff middle of next week and game planning after that."
Quote of the Day: "He's the James Bond of athletic trainers." Former Bearcats QB Tony Pike on UC Associate AD/Sports Medicine Bob Mangine during Thursday's morning practice.
