CINCINNATI---Cornhole, the popular bean bag game which got its start in the city of Cincinnati, will become a staple on the University of Cincinnati campus this fall. UC and American Cornhole are teaming up to roll out the first-ever Bearcats Cornhole Classic at select athletics events this fall.
The majority of the eight-event tournament will take place prior to UC home football games as part of CATTITUDE at Varsity Village in Marge Schott Stadium. Additional classic matches will take place prior to a watch party for UC's game at San Diego State (9/29) and as part of the Bearcat Fan Jam basketball event on Oct. 20.
Registration for the tournament is free with a football game ticket and fans are encouraged to participate in as many of the events as possible. Registration will be limited to the first 100 fans to sign up for each date.
Each of the eight events will be broken into round robin competitions. Fans will be guaranteed two games per event. Additionally, each player will accumulate points for every event they participate in and will receive bonus points for competing in multiple events.
The culmination of the Bearcats Cornhole Classic will come during halftime of an early season men's basketball home game with a Grand Tournament featuring the top-16 finishers from the year.
For more information on the event and to register, contact Greg Harrell via email at Greg.Harrell@uc.edu. For questions only, Harrell can be reached at 513-556-1052.
