University of Cincinnati officials announced yesterday that tickets are sold-out for the Purdue home opener set for Saturday, August 31 at noon.
The department of athletics expects a Nippert Stadium all-time record crowd in attendance for the start of the Tommy Tuberville era as the Purdue Boilermakers visit Nippert Stadium. Department officials also reported that UC students have claimed their full allotment of tickets and all of the student overflow tickets have been claimed as well.
"We're really excited that the season is finally here after the months of behind the scenes preparation that has taken place," Head Football Coach Tommy Tuberville said. "Our fans are a vital part of all our athletic teams and we need them to help us every step of the way. When recruits come to our stadium, we want them to see a sea of white. When television cameras scan the crowd, we want people all across the country to see our fans – unified in white.”
Additionally, Bearcats fans may attend the women’s volleyball game at 4:30 p.m. in Fifth Third Arena by showing their football game ticket. Will-call windows are set to open at 9 a.m. and The Catwalk through the Grid on Sigma Sigma Commons will begin at 9:30 a.m.
