Grutza Named BIG EAST Player of the Week|
Sept. 17, 2007
CINCINNATI-- University of Cincinnati quarterback Dustin Grutza was honored as the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Cincinnati's 47-10 victory at Miami (OH) on Sept. 15.
After seeing no playing time in the first two games, Grutza found out he was starting 25 minutes prior to kickoff and finished with one of his finest performances at Miami (OH). No stranger to the starting lineup, the junior signal caller completed 25-of-35 passes for a career-high 290 yards including two for touchdowns against the RedHawks.
The start was the first for Grutza since Nov. 25, 2006 at Connecticut.
Grutza and Cincinnati (3-0) host Marshall at Nippert Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
