Sept. 20, 2007
CINCINNATI - Special Spectators and the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics will host children from Cincinnati Children's Hospital during the Bearcats' football game against Marshall on September 22, 2007.
The kids' attendance at the game is in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati football team's participation in Special Spectators, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization. Special Spectators, in partnership with Football Bowl Subdivision programs and children's hospitals, coordinates a day of fun and excitement for seriously ill children and their parents at college football games while exposing student-athletes to the inspiration and reward of making a powerful contribution to the community by visiting children's hospitals and pediatric units.
Through the Bearcat's generous involvement in Special Spectators, youngsters from Cincinnati Children's Hospital will also attend a game day tailgate. The tailgate party will be located in the Sander Lot just west of Jefferson Avenue off of West Charlton Street. The children will also watch the Bearcat's in action as they face The Herd at Nippert Stadium.
