"Obviously, for me it's centering and focusing on San Diego State University. There have been some things that have occurred over the past 48 hours relative to rankings and things of that nature, and that is great. I'm a football coach interested in getting our team ready to play football games.
So my focus and attention is on San Diego State. I have a great deal of respect for Coach (Chuck) Long. He does a very good job offensively, very creative. I've known Bobby Elliot for twenty years. I've got a great deal of respect for this coaching staff.
On Cincinnati's quarterbacks
"I think we get them ready. We will continue to prepare them the way we have been preparing them. I've been getting three quarterbacks ready each week. I want to give each the opportunity to be prepared when we put them out there. I think it's business as usual."
On being ranked in the AP Top 25
"It's been business as usual. I know our kids are respectful of the rating that they've gotten. They heard from me that you get ranked because you win games. You don't win games because you're ranked. They understand you have to perform on a day to day basis, and you've got to get your heads out of the clouds because they can come down as quickly as it went up. We're pretty well grounded. We know that you just have to work hard every day and at the end of the year, we can look back on it and say wow that was neat."
