Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly
"It was a great college atmosphere tonight in Huntington. The Marshall fans were out and I know our team was excited to play down here. It's got a great tradition and our team was ready for the opportunity for this. There's a great mystique with Marshall."
"I knew we were going to play really good. Marshall was fast early. They came out fast and I thought they hit us very physical defensively in particular. Obviously we got the big safety after the see saw battle. We were backed up and played it to the vest, punted the ball and able to get the first two points. That opened it up for us."
"We tried to manage the game the best we could with our quarterback; running the football was important for us. In the third and fourth quarter we were able control the line of scrimmage that allowed us to win this football game."
On choosing Chazz Anderson to start:
"In terms with what I wanted to do today with the game plan which was running it play action pass; play more of a physical football game, Chazz brings that to the table. He was confident "
"They threw everything at us. They threw the kitchen sink at us today. We saw everything; fronts, pressures. After every series I'd have to draw up something new for him (Chazz) to see. I was impressed with his ability to handle this environment with poise and leadership."
Marshall coach Mark Snyder
"I thought Cincinnati played awfully well. I'm disappointed in our performance tonight. I think the defense played very well in the positions we put them in. I'm disappointed over the punt block. We put our defense in very hard positions with the turnovers we made. They had their backs against the end zone and they played pretty well."
"Offensively for the second week in a row we get to the red zone against a great defense and we're going backwards. We're going the wrong way but give Cincinnati's defense credit, they played pretty well up front. They put 6-7 guys in the box to stop our running game and good coverage all night."
On Mark Cann:
"He struggled again tonight. He threw a couple good balls but he needs to perform better. He's young and he's going through a tough time now and it's not all just him. He's our starting quarterback. We win as a team, lose as a team."
"We got two weeks off and we're going to work on ourselves this week. We'll work on Marshall and use some different combinations in there."
