Oct. 4, 2012

University of Cincinnati football fans attending the sold-out homecoming game against longtime rival Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 7 p.m. ET are encouraged to arrive on campus early to limit potential traffic delays in getting to historic Nippert Stadium.

UC’s Homecoming parade at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, will affect the following streets around campus:

  • Calhoun Street, between Vine Street and Clifton Avenue, will close at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6.
  • Clifton Avenue, between McMillan and Martin Luther King Jr. avenues, will close at 2:30 p.m.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, between Clifton Avenue and Woodside Drive will be restricted to one lane in each direction starting at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Also, parking will be unavailable in the above areas starting at 1 p.m. until the parade ends at approximately 4 p.m.

The parade route starts at the corner of Calhoun and Clifton avenues, then proceeds north on Clifton Avenue, then east on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and ends at the corner of MLK and Woodside Drive. See campus map.

All parking and regular driving routes will be reinstated at the end of the Homecoming parade at approximately 4 p.m.

Parking garages on campus will be staffed starting at noon, seven hours before game time. A reminder to all fans that tailgating is not allowed in any University of Cincinnati Parking Garage.

In order to assist fans coming to the game, UC Parking Services staff will remain in place until 7:30 p.m.

For patrons who do not have parking passes, cash parking is available for $15 on a first come first served basis in Woodside, Clifton Court and Eden Garages. There are shuttles that run frequently from Eden Garage (under the bridge) to University Avenue Garage.  There will be directional signage for our cash patrons to Eden Garage.  RV Parking is located in Lot 13 and the cost is $20.

Please visit www.uc.edu/parking/maps.html for directions to all parking locations.

The will call windows on the west side of the Richard E. Lindner Center facing Nippert Stadium will open at 3 p.m. Media will call on the west side of Fifth Third Arena will open at 5:30 p.m. Player will call for both teams is located on the third floor of the Richard E. Lindner Center and will open at 5:30 p.m. All fans picking up tickets need to show a valid photo ID.

Fans that typically enjoy activities in the Bearcats Fan Zone prior to the game and enter through Gate 2 of the stadium near the Richard E. Lindner Center are reminded that Gate 3 often has shorter lines because fans often try to enter the first gate they see. Gate 3 is located on the east side of Dieterle Vocal Arts Center, the building in the south end zone of Nippert Stadium and is accessible by walking down Corry Blvd. and taking a right at the traffic circle. Fans are encouraged to seek out the shortest lines among Gates 2 or 3 to expedite entry for everyone

As Election Day nears, fans are reminded that political material that implies endorsement of any political candidate or any political issue may not be distributed without prior approval by University of Cincinnati. Signage affixed to vehicles is permitted, but stand-alone signage is not permitted. The University seeks to balance First Amendment rights with its obligation to eliminate or reduce activities that significantly detract from fans' enjoyment of the event. UC will not allow itself to be perceived as endorsing a political candidate or issue.

Solicitations of any kind within UC Athletics facilities or on UC premises are prohibited unless specifically approved by the University of Cincinnati. The distribution of flyers or leaflets on parked vehicles is expressly prohibited.

Patrons with disabilities should contact the UC Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-CATS-TIX so that their needs may be attended to effectively. Handicap accessible cash parking is available in the CCM garage at the end of Corry Blvd. A state-issued handicap pass or license plate is required.

For fan convenience, giving priority to fans with special needs, a golf cart service will be provided to assist fans to Nippert Stadium.
