Huber and Manalac Receive BIG EAST Player of the Week Honors

CINCINNATI-- University of Cincinnati punter Kevin Huber and linebacker Ryan Manalac each received BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week plaudits for their play in the 28-23 triumph at No. 21 Rutgers.

Huber averaged 51.5 yards on four punts, including a 51-yard kick that was downed on the 1-yard line, as part of Cincinnati's victory. The Cincinnati native has had three punts downed on the opponents' 1-yard line this season. Huber has had 10 of his 21 punts stopped inside the opposition's 20 yard line. He leads the BIG EAST with an average of 50.1 yards per punt.

Manalac carded a game-high 11 tackles and most importantly, came up with the key defensive play when he intercepted a pass on the Bearcats' 13-yard line with 1:19 left in the fourth quarter. The Pickerington, OH native led a defense that forced four turnovers, giving the Bearcats a best-in-the-nation 25 takeaways this season.

The No. 15/17 rated Bearcats return to the field on Saturday night when they host Louisville in the battle for the Keg of Nails. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPNU. Tickets are sold out.
