Football's Pead Named BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week|

CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior running back Isaiah Pead (Columbus, Ohio/Eastmoor Academy) was named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announce Monday.
Pead rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in a 25-16 win against Louisville, the Bearcats' BIG EAST opener. Pead keyed Cincinnati's comeback from a 16-7 halftime deficit by breaking free for a 50-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that gave the Bearcats the lead for good. Pead has rushed for 624 yards and eight touchdowns this season and ranks second in the BIG EAST in rushing at 104.0 yards per game. Pead was also named the BIG EAST Player of the Week by Rivals.com.
Senior defensive tackle Derek Wolfe (Lisbon, Ohio/Beaver Local) earned a spot on this week's honor roll. He recorded a career best in tackles (11) and tackles for loss (2.5) and also had a sack and two QB hurries. UC's defense has not allowed an offensive touchdown in nine quarters and its last three opponents are averaging 14 yards rushing per game.
UC (5-1, 1-0 BIG EAST) is back on the field Saturday, traveling to Tampa to face USF (4-2, 0-2 BIG EAST) at noon inside Raymond James Stadium. The game will be televised by the BIG EAST Network and is available on WKRC Local 12 in Cincinnati.
