PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Cincinnati senior wide receiver Armon Binns (Pasadena, Calif. Pasadena) was named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 15, 2010, the league office announced Monday.
Binns had eight receptions for 175 yards - both career highs - with three touchdowns in Cincinnati's 35-27, come-from-behind win against Louisville, extending the Bearcats' BIG EAST winning streak to 13 games. His 31-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter brought Cincinnati within three points and his 62-yard score in the fourth quarter accounted for the winning margin.
Cincinnati (3-3, 1-0 BIG EAST) returns to the field Friday, facing USF in the Ring of Red game at Nippert Stadium. The Bearcats will don their red jerseys in an 8 p.m. game scheduled to be televised on ESPN2.
