Football Moves Into Top-25 Following Win At USF|

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team is ranked No. 23 in this week’s USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 24 in the Associated Press poll following the Bearcats' thrilling 37-34 road win at USF Saturday.
Senior QB Zach Collaros (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville) scored the game-winning touchdown, a 2-yard scamper with 12 seconds remaining, to move the Bearcats atop the BIG EAST standings and secure bowl eligibility for the squad.
Collaros finished 26-of-41 for 389 yards and three touchdowns along with 21 rushing yards and another two scores. He became only the second QB in school history, along with Gino Guidugli, to throw for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in his career.
UC (6-1, 2-0 BIG EAST Conference) is also receiving votes in Sunday’s Associated Press Top-25 poll.
The Bearcats move back into the national polls for the first time since the close of the 2009 season. The football squad also joins the men’s basketball team in the polls for the first time since the week of Dec. 7, 2009. The men’s basketball squad is ranked No. 22 in the USA Today/ESPN Preseason Basketball Coaches poll.
UC is 20-8-1 as a ranked team. The Bearcats return to action on Saturday, Nov. 5 against Pittsburgh inside Heinz Field. Kickoff time is scheduled to be announced Monday by the BIG EAST office.
