Zach Edwards Named American Defensive Player of the Week|

CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati defensive back Zach Edwards (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) was named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 2, 2013, the league office announced Monday.
Edwards, a true freshman, helped Cincinnati improve to 3-1 in the American Athletic Conference as he led a Bearcats defense that limited Memphis to 232 yards of offense in a 34-21 win on Wed., Oct. 30, 2013. Edwards had a game- and career-high 11 tackles, including one tackle for loss, and had a fumble recovery that led to a Cincinnati touchdown on the following play.
Edwards has 38 tackles with two interceptions in his freshman season.
Wide receiver Anthony McClung (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) was named to the league's weekly honor roll after setting a career high with nine receptions against the Tigers. His catches went for 98 yards and a TD, his fifth of the season.
