CINCINNATI-- One day after disposing of No. 16 Connecticut, the University of Cincinnati returned to the Top 25, at No. 21 in this week's Associated Press Poll and No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll. UC is listed at No. 22 in this week's BCS standings.
Cincinnati (8-2, 3-2 BIG EAST) managed to derail Connecticut's (8-2, 4-1 BIG EAST) undefeated start in the BIG EAST with a 27-3 triumph. UC jumped out to a 13-0 lead by the close of the first quarter and an aggressive defense stopped the comeback hopes by yielding 22 rushing yards on 22 carries.
Tops in the country in takeaways (35) and third in turnover margin (+1.6 per game), the Bearcats own an
all-time record of 3-5-1 when nationally ranked.
Tickets for the home finale, on Saturday, are sold out. Tickets will be made available to the first 500 students with a valid UC student ID through the turnstiles at Gate 3 at the lower East Side of Dieterle Hall and Varsity Village. Gates open at 6:15 p.m.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. and is being televised on ESPN.
