Letter from Head Coach Brian Kelly to Bowl Credit and Season Ticket Holders|
Nov. 29, 2007
Dear Bearcats Nation,
"Saturday night wasn't the end of the climb ... It was just the beginning."
Paul Daugherty, Cincinnati Enquirer, following the West Virginia game
Nine wins and going for a school-record 10th... it's just the beginning!
Three wins vs. Top 25 teams ... it's just the beginning!
Three sellouts of Nippert Stadium ... it's just the beginning!
The PapaJohns.com Bowl on Dec. 22 ... it's just the beginning!
No words in the history of UC football could be more fitting. In three short months, you and other members of Bearcats' Nation have been a part of something special. A transformation and a belief that CINCINNATI is not just a school that plays football ... we are a BIG EAST Conference championship contender and a rightful contender for a Bowl Championship Series (BCS) berth.
The next step along the way to building our championship program came as we received our invitation to the 2007 PapaJohns.com Bowl on Dec. 22 vs. the University of Southern Mississippi in Birmingham, Ala.
We hope you can join us in Birmingham for a great bowl experience. If you are looking for easy and economical ways to get to the game, check out our Bowl Central web page on www.GoBEARCATS.com for same-day airplane charters as well as a two-day bus trip from our partner Provident Travel (click here for travel packages).
As you know, you purchased a $50 bowl ticket credit with each season ticket (example: two season tickets = $100 allotted for purchase of bowl tickets). Now that we know the tickets for the bowl are $30 per ticket, you have a $20 credit remaining per seat. We want to let you know how you can apply the remaining credit:
Choice #1 Turn the remaining $20 per seat into additional tickets to the PapaJohns.com Bowl and bring more family or friends to Birmingham (example: 2 season tickets = $40 remaining = bowl ticket price $30 = 1 additional ticket to the game).
Choice #2 If you do not need the additional ticket(s) or you cannot attend the game, your first option is to donate the remaining dollars or the unused tickets to UC Football Bowl Fund. Your contribution will be used to provide tickets to UC students planning on attending the game or to provide opportunities for underprivileged children in the Birmingham area to see the game.
Choice #3 Your final option would be to apply the credit to your 2008 season tickets.
Game day is just around the corner and we need to hear from you by Friday, Dec. 7 regarding which of the three options above you want to choose. Take a moment and call one of our customer service representatives in the UC Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-CATS-TIX to let us know which option you prefer.
I look forward to seeing you at the bowl, and remember ... it's just the beginning!
