BCS Selection Show Event Announced for Sunday at Fifth Third Arena

CINCINNATI - On Sunday, Dec. 6, Cincinnati Bearcats fans are invited to Fifth Third Arena for a special Bowl Championship Series (BCS) Selection Show event, the Department of Athletics announced today. The event is open to the public with the doors of Fifth Third opening at 6 p.m. The official BSC Selection Show begins at 8 p.m.

UC's three rivalry trophies as well as both BIG EAST Conference Championship trophies will be on display.

• The Victory Bell, 37-13 win over Miami (OH)

• The Keg of Nails, 41-10 win over Louisville

• The River City Rivalry Trophy, 45-44 win over Pittsburgh

• The 2008 and 2009 BIG EAST Championship Trophies

Fans can have their picture taken with the trophies for a $5 donation to the Jefferson Avenue Sports Complex fund.

The Bearcats assured themselves of a slot in a BCS Bowl today as they clinched their second consecutive outright league title, knocking off Pittsburgh in dramatic fashion, 45-44, at Heinz Field on ABC. The win gives Cincinnati (12-0, 7-0 BIG EAST) their first undefeated regular season in the modern era.

UC is ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press poll, USA Today Coaches poll, and Bowl Championship Series Standings entering the week.
