Final Results

University of Cincinnati freshman Jared O'Kelley (Canton, Ga./Creekview High School) carded a career-best 3-under par 75-69-69=213 to tie for 22nd place in final-round action Tuesday at the USF Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club (par 72, 7,153 yardage) in Dade City, Fla.

O'Kelley started the third round on the 10th hole and was even through nine holes before three consecutive birdies on holes three through five. A bogey on No. 6 was erased by a birdie on No. 9 as O'Kelley finished his final nine holes at 3-under.

UC junior John Michael O'Toole (Pinson, Ala./ Central Alabama CC) posted the best final-round score of any Bearcat, a 4-under 68. O'Toole had six birdies on Tuesday and shot five under on his final 15 holes to finish the tournament tied for 31st place at 2-under 68-78-68=214.

Florida State's Jack Maguire won medalist honors after firing the best round of the tournament on Tuesday, a 10-under 62 to climb from sixth place to first at 16-under 65-73-62=200.

The Bearcats registered their best team score of the three-day event on Tuesday with a 7-under 281 to finish in 12th place at 293-287-281=861.     

The event featured seven teams ranked in the Golfstat Top 40 rankings. No. 20 Florida State won the team title, finishing with a 41-under 275-284-264=823. Host USF, ranked No. 33, was second at 281-269-283=833.   

UC junior Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome High School) and sophomore Emerson Newsome (Dacula, Ga./Mill Creek High School) tied for 66th place. Howard shot a 3-under 69 on Tuesday to finish at 76-75-69=220. Newsome finished with a 3-over 75 in the third round to end at 74-71-75=220. UC junior Baxter Reeves (Montgomery, Ala./ Central Alabama CC) finished 85th at 79-72-78=229.  


 

 

UC returns to action March 16-17 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie, Ind.
