Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at Talis Park Challenge|

NAPLES, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati men's golf team moved up one spot to finish in eighth place following Monday's final round of the Talis Park Challenge hosted by Ball State University in Naples, Florida.
The Bearcats posted a 306 on Monday morning after shooting a 305 and a 310 yesterday afternoon. Junior John Michael O'Toole (Pinson, Ala./Central Alabama CC) led UC on the final day of the tournament with a 3-over 75. The junior was 4-over-par after his first six holes, but was able to shoot 1-under the rest of the way. O'Toole shot 76-79-75=230 to finish tied for 28th place.
UC junior Jared Howard (Dublin, OH/Jerome) posted the best overall finish for Cincinnati when he finished tied for 20th place after scores of 74-78-76=228.
Freshman Jared O'Kelley (Canton, Ga./Creekview High School) finished tied for 33rd place when he carded a 77 on Monday morning. On Sunday, he recorded scores of 80 and 75 to finish the tournament with a 232.
Junior Baxter Reeves (Montgomery, Ala./Central Alabama CC) finished tied for 51st place after scores of 76-78-85=239. Sophomore Emerson Newsome (Dacula, Ga./Mill Creek High School) rounded out the scoring for the Bearcats when he finished tied for 54th place after he carded a 6-over 78 in the third round to end at 79-83-78=240.
The event featured six teams in the Top 100 Golf Week rankings. No. 18 Vanderbilt won the team title, finishing with a 7-over 283-289-299=871. Wichita State finished second at 288-304-298=980. Austin Peay's Marco Iten and Vanderbilt's Carson Jacobs are co-medalists with identical one-under par scores of 215
UC returns to action March 31 - April 1 at the Memphis Intercollegiate in Cordova, Tennessee.
