JASPER, Ind. - David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) finished ninth to lead the University of Cincinnati men's golf team to a 10th-place finish at the Ball State Cardinal Collegiate on March 26-28 at Sultan's Run Golf Course.
Tepe fired rounds of 72-73-77=222 and tied with four other golfers for ninth at six over par.
Matt Ledom (Leawood, Kan./Rockhurst Jesuit Prep) finished 27th and shot a UC-low 69 in the second round. His 79-69-79=227 tied with two others.
Joe Kastelic (Newton, N.C./Fred T. Foard) also finished in the Top 50, shooting rounds of 78-80-77=235 to tie for 49th.
Cincinnati posted rounds of 305-300-315=920 to finish three shots ahead of 11th-place Cleveland State (313-305-305=923). Evansville won the team title with rounds of 301-298-290=889, two shots better than second-place Bowling Green (301-298-290=889).
Bowling Green's Matt Schneider was the individual champion, firing rounds of 71-71-71=213 for three under par. Marshall's Nathan Kerns was in second place, five shots back with rounds of 72-71-75=218.
The Bearcats will head to Lexington, Ky., for the Bluegrass Invitational on April 10-11.
