Bearcats Finish 11th at Marshall Invitational|

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Alberto Fernandez (Gijorn, Spain/La Corrolla) shot a season-best one-over-par 214 and finished third at the Marshall Invitational on Saturday (April 4) at the Guyan Golf & Country Club. Cincinnati placed 11th in the team competition.
Fernandez shot 67 in the final round to post his top finish of the season. His round of 72-75-67=214 was the third-best for a UC player in 2008-09.
The Bearcats shot rounds of 302-295-297=894, the lowest total of the spring season for UC. The Bearcats were two shots behind Bowling Green, while topping host Marshall by four strokes. Illinois won the team title with rounds of 296-279-280=855.
Zach Barlow of Illinois was the tournament's medalist, posting a one-under 211 (74-66-71).
The Bearcats will head down the road to Lexington, Ky., for the Kentucky Invitational on April 11-12.
