VERONA, N.Y. - University of Cincinnati sophomore Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) is tied for 27th place at 5-over par 149 after two rounds at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate at Turning Stone Resort. The 54-hole tournament concludes Monday on the Kaluhyat golf course (7,105-yard, par 72).
Howard climbed back from a 5-over par 77 in the first round, carding an even par 72 in the afternoon's second round. Missouri's Jace Long leads the event at 12-under par 66-66=132.
As a team, the Bearcats at tied for 11th place at 311-302=613. Missouri leads the 13-team field at 276-283=559. BIG EAST Conference foes Louisville (285-283=568) and Villanova (298-296=594) are second and sixth, respectively.
UC freshmen Blake Hamilton (Union, Ky./Ryle) and Emerson Newsome (Hoschton, Ga./Mill Creek) own the Bearcats' next best scores. Hamilton is tied for 45th place at 77-77=154. Newsome is tied in 51st position at 77-79=156. Sophomore Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) posted an 84-74=158 to tie for 55th place. Senior David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) is tied in 57th place at 80-79=159.
