BAHA CALIFORNIA, Mexico – University of Cincinnati junior David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) shot a final-round 2-over par 73 to finish tied for 25th at 8-over par 73-75-73=221 at the Cabo Collegiate at the Club Compestre Golf Course.
Tepe tied three other players, 16 shots behind tournament medalist Sebastian Cappelen of Arkansas, who fired an 8-under par 68-68-69=205. Tepe’s finish is his fourth in the Top 25 in UC’s five tournaments this fall.
The Bearcats finished 12th with a 312-310-312=934. The Razorbacks won the team crown, posting a 21-under par 831.
UC freshman Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) led all other Bearcat players, finishing tied for 53rd at 80-73-78=231. Junior Andrew Desmarais (Union, Ky./Ryle) was 58th at 78-79-81=238. Junior Zach Bates (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) posted an 82-84-80=246 to tie freshman Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) 81-83-82=246 for 63rd place.
The Bearcats begin their spring season at the USF Invitational March 4-6 in Dade City, Fla.
