PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Cincinnati senior golfer Joe Kastelic (Newton, N.C./Fred T. Foard) was named to the men's golf all-BIG EAST Conference team, the league announced on Thursday (April 28).

Kastelic led the Bearcats in scoring average in three of his four seasons, including 2010-11, when he posted a 74.9 average. The lefty from North Carolina was in contention for the conference title throughout the three-day BIG EAST Championship April 17-19. He finished third with a three-round total of 69-75-72=216, three over par.

Kastelic's third-place finish at the conference championship was his best of the season. He averaged 74.5 strokes over 116 rounds as a Bearcat.

He was one of 12 members of the all-BIG EAST squad. Notre Dame head coach Jim Kubinski was named the league's Coach of the Year after guiding the Irish to the conference crown, while ND's Max Scodro and Niall Platt earned Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors, respectively.
